What is PPS?
The Private Practice Section
of the American Physical Therapy Association provides members
with information and resources specifically for practitioners
who are the owners or operators of physical therapy private
practices.
PPS Mission Statement
The purpose of the section
is to foster the growth, economic viability, and business
success, of physical therapist-owned physical therapy services
provided for the benefit of the public, and to promote exclusive
physical therapist ownership of physical therapy services.

Welcome to the PPS Website! It is our goal to be your source
of business information as for private practice physical therapy
services. Your Section office is staffed by hard-working,
dedicated individuals who have your needs in mind as they
answer your questions and direct you to the right resources
to accomplish your goals. The Section Board, which is elected
by the members, is talented, motivated and committed to developing
programs that serve your needs and improve your business acumen.
Our highest priority is to obtain Direct Access in the Medicare
System and we are achieving that through an organized and
unified effort with APTA. The Section leadership believes
the success of this initiative is vital to the evolution of
physical therapy in this country. When this becomes reality,
it will put us on a level playing field with our competitors
so we can provide service to the public and meet their rehabilitation
needs.
I challenge you to get involved. This is a volunteer organization
and the more PTs who are willing to share their expertise
and knowledge, the more we will all learn and benefit. Call
your Board Members or the Section office to find out how you
can assist your colleagues in reaching the goals and directives
determined by the Board. We can accomplish so much more collectively
than any of us can individually.
