Integrated Marketing Made Simple

Generally, speaking physical therapists do not seem to be natural-born marketers.  Selected by physical therapy schools primarily for academic achievement, marketing and/or sales skills are not necessarily part and parcel of a new graduate PT’s persona.  While most physical therapists may not be great marketers initially, nearly all are outstanding communicators and relationship builders in one-on-one settings with patients.  Since communication and relationship building is the basis for all marketing, marketing skills are relatively easy to develop in physical therapists.  In this session we will discuss the creation of a structured marketing plan that integrates the culture of the practice as well as the clinical paradigms.  Each attendee should leave with an outline for a marketing plan that can be put into place immediately as well as a number of resources to assist with integrating the marketing plan in a continuous fashion.

At this session participants will:

  • Describe the four types of marketers (I, II, III, and IV).
  • Define the three pillars of strategic planning.
  • List the three major marketing components.
  • Integrate the marketing plan with the practice culture and clinical paradigm.
  • Identify the three sides of “Practice Triangle.”
  • Develop an outline for a marketing plan.

At this session participants will:

  • Understand the emerging issues as they relate to federal legislation, and issues related to the CPT and RBRVS process that effect reimbursement of rehabilitation services.
  • Learn the most updated nomenclature for and application of the 97000 series CPT codes to describe clinical practice.
